Street Fighter Strike
Yo make your first move, so what's in gon' be?
Summary
Street Fighter Strike is a two part project that showcases retro arcade titles such as Street Fighter III 3rd Strike and Marvel vs Capcom Clash of Super Heroes being brought back to life through the wonderful efforts of Fightcade 2, a service that allows you to netplay old arcade titles (specifically fighting games) with rollback netcode and some awesome quality of life features. This project was in part originally created as an event for Asrokaevia, the predecessor to my digital networking project known as Asveora. Information about both of them can be found within Technology Tours where references to the community aspect of Asrokaevia signal why Street Fighter III 3rd Strike was featured on the original AmzroSevca channel. All of the components of this project can be viewed through the Street Fighter Strike YouTube Playlist where Arcmaevotix is home to the original versions and Nehrpsyznet is home to the remade versions.

Process
Putting together the contents for Street Fighter Strike was rather easy on the assets end. Custom letterbox borders and staging backgrounds were created for events or aesthetic framing and setting up Fightcade 2 was a straightforward process since all of its components are included from the get go, so configuring emulation options was minimal at most. Once the necessary games were sourced and loaded, searching for matches through rotation was the next step. After matches were recorded, they were cut and audio was refined before compiling the independent sets betweend different players.

Reflection
Street Fighter Strike was a nice break from the far more demanding projects that I was designing. It was a great way to relive some classic titles and mess around with creating a handful of custom framing graphics. Much of what was employed with this project in production came from what I learned from previous design projects such as Sonic 1 Complete Collection and Twenty Million Miles From Comfort. It was a nice case of reinforced learning!
